Posted by: Jim Copen TITLE: AGE / VALUE: AMC VIII
I came across an old bike that I think is an AMC VIII.It has the tank that extends past the front of the frame with headlight and horn the headlight has a red white and blue AMC logo on it.I can~t find anything about it online and of the two bicycle shops in my town neither knows what it is.The serial number is 64x96 155167.

I have never seen a serial number like this and can~t find a way to track it.Another thing this bike has is a rack on the front that looks like a springer, but it~s nota springer front end.Does anyone know anything about this bike? I tried to post a picture of it and a Graco mx 1000 on here, but I don~t think the upload worked. If anyone can tell me what I have it would be greatly appreciated.

Jim~s bike is a Murray-built with the Spaceliner frame, circa 1965. My question now is, who or what does AMC signify? Anybody know of a chain store or something by that name?
