Posted by: Rob Stone TITLE: AGE / VALUE: Late Chicago Schwinn
I have an odd Schwinn. Headset serial number is BU52XXXXX. It is a fillet brazed frameset, Oval Chicago badge, medium rise handlebars. The fork is a large round tube with welded on triangular gussets where the axle bolts on. It is a 10speed with large metal serrated petals. No decals except a warning that wet rims effect the stopping power of the brakes. It has Schwinn approved high flange hubs with really wide chrome steel rims. There was a crossbar brace that has been removed from the handlebars. Heavy, well made straight tube frame. It appears to have original brown metallic paint. Can anybody help? Serial number seems to be too late to be a fillet frame.
