I recently picked this bike up, I believe that there has been a few different parts placed on it by the guy I got it from. He believed it to maybe be a bike that was built by Cleveland Welding or maybe a Colson from the late 1930~s. If you could help me figure it out I~d appreciate it. I have other pictures and pictures of the numbers below the crank. Thanks! Bob

Good photo. Try comparing with photos on this site (picture database) and with the bikes on nostalgic.net. Late 30s looks right ~cause it appears to have once had a prop stand.

It takes a while; all you can do is fish until you get a nibble. You should be able to find a known maker with that exact chainwheel.
