Posted by: Frank TITLE: BALLOON: what should I look for
I want to build two 26 inch bikes for fun... I want to locate a pair of camel back frames. What would be the most common and ecinomical frames out there?

This is all new to me.
Thanks for the help.

If you should happen to locate a Schwinn Tornado, keep in mind that unlike other Schwinns they didn~t come equipped with built-in kickstands; at least my ~60 didn~t.

I rather use old frames. Even refabbed Walmart Bike wouldnt look and feel the same....

Yepp...please don~t carve-up the old frames. Go out and kill a new one from Target or Wall(made in China)Mart.

Another option would be to buy a couple of those cheap import cruisers you can get at places like Wal-Mart. The chrome is thin and the components are very low end, but you~d get 2 strong frames and all the parts you~d need in one place!

I~d look for 1959/60 schwinn toranados. They have two stright bars below the top tube, you could remove them and file the area smooth. They are the cheapest of this type. The Flying star is the same frame without the twinn bars---but they seem to bring more for some reason.
