I have disassembled a Bendix 76 coaster brake hub. I am looking for rebuild info. I found a schematic but what I would like to know is what do I lubricate and what type of lube do I use. I know to grease the bearings, but what about the drive screw, brake shoe keys, expander, etc. Also can someone tell me which side of the hub is the drive side? I did not notice that the hub is not the same on both sides when I took it apart! Thanks.

The book I have suggest the following: 1) pack all ball retainers with ball-bearing grease, 2) also grease brake cones and shoes, retarder spring, clutch face and smooth part of axle, 3) use 30 weight oil on the driving screw threads. You put the brake arm on and assemble all the brake parts and then put that in the big-hole side. Then put the driver in from the other side. If you have trouble, let me know.
