Today the Schwinn cranks survive on the newest bikes put out by the current Schwinn company. The cloverleaf design, that is. It~s stamped overseas and the finish is different from old school 1960~s Schwinn. Very odd seeing this part made overseas. Like a bit of Americana we lost but then again we~ve lost about everything have~nt we? All our manufacturing industry gone.
Every time I left detroit a pal escorted me to my car with a gun and belt like he~s Jesse James or something except a few times I was in a hurry and this one panhandler didn~t like me in "his" neighborhood. The shop is gone now but what all I got from there and where it led to and I solved a mystery and beat out huge collectors to where the real treasure really was. I tell you it was incredible!

Infuriated that others from California would dare come and work my territory! You ain~t having fun in this until you get mugged, robbed and the living crap kicked out of you as you walk to the truck!

Still would not have missed the adventure for anything!

I have the old sweetheart skip tooth chainring and bolted into the inside of it is another skip tooth chainring only this one is smaller. It fits the 1900~s era Schwinn Tandem!

A testament to the awesome and odd parts and bikes I pulled from the hellish meighborhood of 6 and Livernois in Detroit. The old Shop of Gene Pourtouisi of Cyclopedia mail order. The back inventory of Cyclopedia......... Survived.

Schwinn didn~t make a 1964 with a skiptooth, it is probably the work of a previous owner. It would be far easier to find the original design 1/2 inch pitch chainring than to find a good inch pitch chain for a decent price. Ditto with the rear sprocket.
