I have a Schwinn Corvette 5 Speed(external,deraileur)
circa approx. 1962.The bike is in average to good condition with good chrome\stainless fenders,nicked paint but mostly all original.Any idea of value,I have not seen anything pertaining to a Corvette 5 Speed,only singles,2 speeds or 3 speeds.Any info would be helpful.

have schwinn corvette blue color has black seat with diamonds on it with red rims big tires has chain guard that says schwinn corvette what is this what year icant find picture of it

Your Corvette is a collectible bicycle. The 5-speed version was only a 2 year run (1961/62). At this time, most Americans were not very familiar with derailleurs, and the 5 speed was probably not a suitable option for most middleweight riders, hence the short production run. As to the value, condition and originality are everything. You stated the bike was mostly original - what was replaced or changed? Not having a photo to view, all I can say is your bike will have more value than the 2 or 3 speed versions. Put it on Ebay and let the market determine it~s value!
