Posted by: Forrest TITLE: BALLOON: Morrow hub
Anyone overhaul a Morrow? My hub sometimes takes an extra revolution to the back-stroke to apply it~s brake. It~s unnerving; you can imagine. Is there an adjustment of some sort that I can make? Is there some tricky way this thing should be reassembled? I thought I put it back together the same way. Or, is something worn out?

I just got this ~37 Shapleigh (Columbia) together and want to keep riding it.

Thanks,

Forrest

Could also be that the cones are too loose or there is too much slack in the chain.

According to the book I have, poor braking of a Morrow hub is caused by a worn brake sleeve. It says the sleeve cannot be repaired or adjusted, it must be replaced. Hope this helps.
